Dr Ahsan Akram



Ahsan Akram is a Cancer Research UK Clinician Scientist Fellow and Honorary Consultant in Respiratory Medicine who has been working with the Proteus team for several years. He completed his PhD in 2015 in optical molecular imaging under the supervision of Professor Kev Dhaliwal, Professor Chris Haslett and Professor Mark Bradley. He remains involved with the translational activities in Proteus.

In 2017 he commenced a CRUK Clinician Scientist Fellowship to develop optical imaging modalities to stratify lung cancer immunotherapy and is collaborating with the Proteus project to develop these. He is also a lung cancer physician within NHS Lothian.
