Joanna started as a PhD student with Proteus in 2016 and is part of the Optima medical optical imaging CDT. Her project will initially be looking at ways to optically sense tuberculosis with fluorescent probes. The aim is to translate this into a radio ligand that could be used to image tuberculosis in humans with PET scanning.
Joanna is a chartered physiotherapist, gaining a Masters in Physiotherapy from Kings College London in 2012. She has worked as a physiotherapist in London and across the South of Scotland. She completed her BSc (hons) in Biomedical Science at the University of Sheffield in 2009.
